Pitbull Teams Up With Jennifer Lopez & Claudia Leitte To Release World Cup Song
April 11, 2014
Rap superstar Pitbull has teamed up with two other huge names in the music industry, American singer Jennifer Lopez, and Brazilian pop star Claudia Leitte to release the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, taking place this summer in Brazil.
The song is entitled 'We Are One (Ole Ola)', and primarily features Pitbull, with shorter sections featuring both Lopez, and Leitte.
'We Are One (Ole Ola)', has been described by various sources as being a fantastic mix of various different types of music, which matches the FIFA World Cup's global influence.
The chorus of Pitbull's composition is a heavily Brazilian influenced mix of drums, trumpets, and upbeat tempos. There are then three verses, each sung by one of the three artists featured the record.
One of the most praised aspects of the single is that each verse is slightly different, and reflects the styles of the artist singing it. Pitbull who takes the first verse, sings in a rapping style. This is followed by Jennifer Lopez, who sings in a more conventional pop style. Finally Claudia Leitte finishes the verses by singing in a Brazilian pop style.
Some originally regarded the choice of Pitbull as the performer of the official song as unusual, being from a country where soccer is not that popular. But upon hearing the song, most critics have been impressed.
This could be a big boost to Pitbull's career, as this song will be heard all around the world as the official anthem of the 2014 World Cup. This will potentially increase his profile around the world and therefore increase album sales, ticket sales, and more in the future.
