Emmanuel Reys a.k.a El Mayor Clasico was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1990.
His father died when he was still young, so he was always very close to his mother and siblings. To help his family, he began working early, at age 14, in a small tailoring factory.
His relationship with music started with the help of a friend, who saw one of Emmanuel’s performances and realized his potential. With the encouragement of this friend, Emmanuel started writing his songs and soon he was performing as backing vocal for other artists.
With more confidence, the urban artist started to make more connections in the industry and made his first partnership with El Kable My Studio. With them, he produced his two first singles: "Los Gucci" and "Clasico".
After these two singles, El Mayor also released "Menor Ratatá", "Choki Choki" and "Yo Soy Jevito". In 2012, he got the attention of the record label Gran Velero, with whom he's still signed.
Supporter of the Dembow style, El Mayor Clasico is becoming more and more important in the urban music scenario. He has partnered up with artists such as Jowell y Randy, Farruko and Arcangel. He was also awarded “best new artist” in the Premios Latinos 2013, in New York.
