Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, better known as Enrique Iglesias, was born on May 8th, 1975, in Madrid, Spain. He is the son of famous Spanish singer Julio Iglesias and Filipina journalist Isabel Preysler.

After his parents divorced, Enrique and his siblings went to live with his father in Miami, where he went to university to study business. At first, he kept his musical career completely private from his father, and put out his first two songs as "Enrique Martinez".

He then signed to Fonovisa Records, and his career was an imediate success. His first album, "Enrique Iglesias", was released in 1995 and won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Performance.

His next albums, "Vivir" (1997), "Cosas del Amor" (1998) and "Enrique" (1999) were also very successful. The last one contained the song "Bailamos", which ended up being his first mainstream hit in many countries including the United States.

In 2000, he was one of the performers at the Super Bowl XXXIV halftime show, along with Christina Aguilera, Phil Collins and Toni Braxton. After that, radio show host Howard Stern made claims that Enrique couldn't sing live, but the singer proved him wrong by performing the song live at his show, and Stern apologized.

The controversy ended up being really good for his career, and he went on to have another big hit with "Hero" / "Héroe", from the album "Escape", released in 2001.

His next albums, "Quizás" (2002), "7" (2003) and "Insomniac" (2007) were also very successful.

In 2010, he released the album "Euphoria", which contained many hit songs, such as "I Like It" ft. Pitbull and "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)" ft. Ludacris and DJ Frank E.

His most recent work was "Sex and Love", which rendered the major hit song "Bailando" ft. Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona. A while after, he also had a major hit with "El Perdón" with Nicky Jam.

Enrique's last two singles, "Duele El Corazón" ft. Wisin and "Súbeme La Rádio" ft. Zion & Lennox and Descemer Bueno, were also huge hits.

To date, Enrique Iglesias has sold over 159 million records, being one of the best selling Latin artists of all time. He is known as the King of Latin Pop.
