José Nieves (R.K.M) and Kenny Vázquez (Ken-Y) were both born and raised in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, and met each other while in high school. Inspired by the Reggaeton explosion in the 90s, they formed a duo and started performing live in parties and events.
A while after, they collaborated with Nicky Jam on the tracks "Pasado" and "Me Estoy Muriendo", which later became hits in Latin America.
After they signed to Pina Records, they released their album "Masterpiece", which was certified platinum. Their follow-up album, "The Royalty/La Realeza", was released in 2008, and rendered a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Urban Album. Their final studio album, "Forever", was released in 2011. After that, the duo disbanded and they both went on solo careers.
Some of their most famous songs are "Down", "Me Matas", "Un Sueño" and "Cuando Te Enamores". They have also collaborated with many artists, such as Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, José Feliciano, Pitbull, Héctor "El Father", Ivy Queen, Chino y Nacho, Plan B, Tony Dize and Zion & Lennox.
