Juan Luis Morera Luna, also known as Wisin, was born on December 19, 1978, in Puerto Rico.
Wisin first started his career as part of the Reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. They met each other in school, and started their careers in 1998. Their debut album, "Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio", was released in 2000, followed by "De Nuevos a Viejos" (2001) and "De Otra Manera" (2002). They were then signed by Universal Music, releasing the album "Mi Vida... My Life", in 2003.
Their third album, "Pa'l Mundo", led them to mainstream success, in 2005. The duo then started collaborating with American artists, such as Fat Joe, on their album "Los Extraterrestres", in 2007, and 50 Cent, on "La Revolución" (2009). Their last album, "Líderes", came out in 2012. The group has been on hiatus ever since.
Wisin & Yandel now have their own label, WY Records, through which they created the supergroup Los Vaqueros, with artists such as Tego Calderón, Jowell y Randy, Franco "El Gorila", Tony Dize, Don Omar and Hector el Father, among others. They released their first album, "Los Vaqueros", in 2006. The following album, "Los Vaqueros: El Regreso", came out in 2011.
Some of the duos biggest hits are "Algo Me Gusta De Ti", "Noche De Sexo", "Rakata", "Pam Pam", "Sexy Movimiento", "Besos Mojados", "Nadie Como Tu" and "Hipnotízame".
Together, Wisin & Yandel were the first Reggaeton artists to win a Grammy, in 2009, for best Latin Urban Album, for "Los Extraterrestres", which also won Best Urban Music Album at the Latin Grammys.
Wisin released his first solo album, "El Sobreviviente" (The Survivor), in 2004, with the second one, "El Regreso Del Sobreviviente" (The Return of The Survivor), coming only ten years later, in 2014. His most famous songs are "La Gitana", "Saoco" ft. Daddy Yankee, "Adrenalina" ft. Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin, "Heavy Heavy" ft. Tempo, "Presión" ft. Cosculluela, "Que Viva La Vida", among others.
