Daddy Yankee has recently been honored for his contribution in Latin music. On March 18th, the ASCAP held their annual Latin Music Awards. During the awards ceremony, the ASCAP named The 37 year old Puerto Rican singer a special honoree.Fania All-Stars were also special honorees. During his acceptance speech, Daddy Yankee states that La Fania are his heroes, and they have all his respect. Daddy Yankee reveals a little of his history in his acceptance speech. He talks about growing up in Santurce, Puerto Rico in the 90s, and how that has contribute to the passion in his heart. Today, he still has that passion and fire that motivated him to be one of the best reggaeton writers and producers.
Daddy Yankee also took home two other awards that the night. He won Song of the Year For "Limbo" and the Voice of Music award.
Up next for Daddy Yankee is a key performance at the el festival Barrio Latino in Peru. He will hit the stage with Prince Royce. The duo recorded the hit song, "Ven Conmigo" in 2011.
