The 16th Latin Grammy Awards happened last night in Las Vegas, and while the Urban genre was one of its main highlights, one Colombian band also showed that Latin America definitely has more to offer. The promising blues-rock trio Diamante Electrico’s most recent album, “B", distributed through Cinq Music, VidaPrimo’s sister company, took home the award for Best Rock Album.
Diamante Electrico is comprised of vocalist-bassist Juan Galeano, guitarist Daniel Alvarez and drummer Andee Zeta. They released their first album, self-titled, which borrowed heavily from the garage sound from the sixties.
Since then, the trio has already performed over 130 shows, and played important festivals like LAMC, Rock al Parque and Vive Latino.
Diamante's second release, B was recorded in just one night. And guaranteed to the trio the Best Rock Album prize at the Latin Grammy.
