Messiah grew up between two worlds. Although he lived in Harlem, he always had his Dominican origins present in his musical taste. Bolero, one of Latin America's most representative genres, was what Messiagh listened to at home, with references such as Jose Jose, Sandro and Rafael. But, when he left home, he found himself with the urban and American flavor of hip-hop.
Today we honor great american hip-hop artists who encouraged Messiah to make music, from a very young age. This selección VP proposes some tracks that cannot be missed when talking about the influences of 'El rey de los Remixes en Español'.
This track was released in 2011, and it's part of the album Take Care. Drake's verses on this theme recall the sincerity of Messiah's style and, of course, the identity he has given to his music: "Malicia con sentido."
If you like Messiah's 'AY' track, this 50 Cent classic will connect you very well. The characteristic sound of the song of this great American rapper, combines very well with the voice of Messiah, every time he says ¡AY! In his song. 'P.I.M.P.' is part of the album Get Rich or Die Tryin', released in 2003.
Otis Redding is considered one of the best singers in the history of American music. In this tribute, made by Jay Z and Kanye West, Otis is brought to the urban, millennium wave, in which Jay Z and Kanye West are two of the most relevant and acclaimed urban artists. This video connects to Messiah for talking about identity, something for which this artist always gives why to speak.
'Juicy' works as the claim of hip-hop and its importance in the musical scene. In his lyrics, he insists that it is best to "aim at the stars", no matter who opposes to it. This theme was released in 1994 and was used in the film 8 Mile.
This theme relates to the "Don Juan" that Messiah always carried within. 2Pac was an expert in expressing, through his lyrics, a certain mischievous and flirtatious attitude. 'I Get Around' was released in 1993, and is part of the album Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z.
